Yeah, that's what I figured.  I'ma go down to the credit union and void it in five minutes so if it does arrive by some odd chance, don't cash it.

Isn't that awesome.  I already knew you guys rocked, but this was amount was truly torture-worthy!  Applause all around.   =D>

We've heard from folks associated with the Endowment and they have asked us to earmark our donation to go towards the Children's Museum project for 2007.

Chris Zechini emailed me a little bit about the project they are planning:

Quote
My hopes from the beginning of the establishment of this Endowment  was the eventual creation of a public space that would be a fitting and lasting tribute to Bryan ,Kathy, Stella and Ruby. A space that anyone could go to. Something that you could see and touch and feel their spirit. I met with the CMoR last summer to begin a discussion about such a space.

The Museum has come up with blueprints for their soon to be constructed "backyard" that are way beyond  expectations. They are beautiful. Incorporated in the plans is an area dedicated to the Harveys. This space will have a small stage and multiple interactive musical components.

The role of the Endowment at this point would be to fund the creation of unique, funky outdoor music making instruments by local artist(s).

In case you're wondering where the 77 cents came from, it is mostly due to PayPal fees taken from even amounts.  I think the total amount collected (not including PayPal fees) was actually right around $710.

I got a letter from the foundation today:

Quote
On behalf of the Board of Governors, I would like to thank you for your memorial contribution of $700.77 to The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia which was received on December 27, 2006. Your gift will be added to the Bryan and Kathryn Harvey Family Memorial Endowment, and will be used for charitable purposes.

The enclosed postcard was produced by the Foundation, with permission from the artist, as a lasting tribute to the Harvey family. Bryan and Kathryn shared a love of music and art, and were known to all as kind, generous people. Thus, the purpose of the Endowment is to provide music, visual art and performing arts enrichment in the Richmond area.

To recognize your support of the Foundation, your name will appear in the donor listing of our next annual report. If you prefer to be listed differently than "Randomville.com in memory of the Harvey Family," or wish to remain anonymous, please call or e-mail me.

We will notify the Family Committe of your innovative fundraiser effort and its result. Thank you for your effort and support.

Sincerely,

Lisa Pratt O'Mara
Donor Services Officer

Unfortunately they forgot to enclose the postcard.
