I left the office in Mason at 3, walked in the door at home at 4:56. Took me forty minutes to drive 8 miles from the office to the sitter's house. Took us a little over an hour to drive the 18 miles to our house on the backroads. My hubby didn't get home until well after 9 lastnight. The only reason he made it home was because a co-worker was nice enough to give him a ride after his car got stuck in the parking lot. He was stuck on the brent spence bridge for close to 3 hours yesterday.

My office apparently had a 2 hour delay this morning. I wish I'd known that when I was unearthing my car at 7:45. I was one of about 5 people here until about an hour ago. The place is still a ghost town.

Two people here called in sick. I was late because I had to drop my hubby off at work. I got here and everyone thought I wasn't coming in today...wish I'd known that before I got out of my car.

All I can say is that I hope it's snowing a lot in upstate new york right now. My boss is supposed to be getting on a plane and coming back here today. The 4 days she's been gone have been oh-so-nice.

Yeah, i love that. I remember when I was in grade school and we'd get a snow day. My parents would then drive us out to breakfast.... And then we'd go to the store. Too snowy to go to school! But perfectly safe to drive 3 times as far to do what you actually FEEL like doing!

I'll never get a snow day now. The closest thing to it was getting to leave 15 minutes early last week after we had entered the third hour of a campus-wide power failure.

Hey, I didn't know my office move from Dayton to Cincinnati would involve me getting the occasional snow day.

I'm all for this shit now. I'll drive an hour each way until the end of time if it'll bring back the possibility of the snow day.
