So, if you want to either sign up for the Torturethon or sponsor someone, go ahead and post it here. I believe last year the folks that participated started their own threads.

I'll open up the sponsorship.

I'll sponsor rva for Creed's "Arms Wide Open" at $2 and hour.
Have fun buddy!!

I'll sponsor people again. I can't remember what it was - maybe $0.50 per hour logged? I'm going to do this again, but I haven't figured out which song yet.

I'm thinking I might do something.  Probably something by Bjork because I can't think of anything that would be more personally torturous.  That said if you can think of something you'd be more compelled to pay for me to do then by all means suggest it.  I'll do whatever will garner the most $$.

Is Jonathan going to be involved?  I'd pay good money for him to listen to Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport on endless loop for a day.

I can't listen to tunage at work, and it won't be any fun for me to do the Torturethon on the weekend so I guess I won't participate, but I'll sponsor everyone at .50c per hour.

Bjork grates on me sometimes, but she's also pretty decent a lot of the time.  Her Sugarcubes output is way more annoying than her solo work.  Especially anything with Einar on it, he's ten times more annoying than Bjork at he worst.

As such, I would say that "Sick For Toys" would be my choice.

He reminded me of the Icelandic Fred Scheider.  But I like Fred Schneider.

I really like that Cindy better though.  I didn't ever get the fuss about Kate.

Fiddy cent ("Candyshop" anyone) for the field.

I can't listen to tunes at work either, but I'm willing to subject myself to musical hell on my day off for this, so I'm game.
I'm still debating the song to pick. My top three offenders would be U2, Dave Matthews or Bob Dylan, but I've got some other frightfully pop ideas coming at me.  Cry

Is there a "due date" for this yet or are we going to wait for the press release still??

We'll give a press release when we confirm when someone is going to do it. It's open for the month of November so anyone can begin anytime, but again, we just ask for a few days' notice.

Just don't want to do a press release for something that might not happen, you know?

Can someone hook me up with "With Arms Wide Open?"  I'm sure you all have the album.

If someone else doesn't have it, I can get it from the library.

You should go to a store and buy it. And let me know when you go so I can have a photographer there!

On a plus side, it should be cheap!

I can probably get you a low quality mp3 of arms wide open and email it to you...

If there ever was a case for moral downloading of a track, this would have to be it.  I mean, it's just one song.  There's not even remote chance I'd actually buy the .mp3 were it not for the Torturethon.  And I have every incentive to remove it from my computer after 8 hours since I'm pretty sure I'll NEVER want to hear it again.

But I actually did try to purchase the CD while I was at Target today.  They didn't have it.  It made me a little sad.  They had Graham Coxen AND Graham Colton.  And Cold War Kids, Cult, and Eisely.  Is it so uncool to like Creed?
