I have sworn off listening to albums before they are released but I definitely plan on listening to that Craig Finn when it comes out.  I was never a big Ani DiFranco fan even in her heyday, but might give that a spin or two if I get around to it.

It's been a while since I've tried it, so this may not be news to anyone, but the scrobbler is working again.  Cool

Pop. 1280 - goddam, that's a big, loud, rude rock record.  Loving it.
Place to Bury Strangers
Pulled Apart by Horses has some good songs, but absolutely no shift in sound, tone, or mood.  It's a little exhausting.
Porcelain Raft - very cool - reminds me of an electro/shoegaze John Lennon.  Weird, right?

First Aid Kit - Don't care for the name, but the album sounds like something that's somewhere between Neko Case and Jenny Lewis.

That First Aid Kit album already came out, if you're trying to save your Luisterpaaling for pre-releases.

"Emmylou" is a good song.  What's weird is that the band is actually two Swedish sisters.

It's a pretty song, that. I had to look past the fact they were influenced by the works of Conor Oberst, though. Just chalked it up to the fact they're young.

Talking of Swedish, i'm listening to "sick and tired" by the Cardigans right now for the first time in years. It's such a fantastic pop song, still.

I see the new Air album is there.  Their last one I didn't like very much, but they have a history (at least for me) of following up a dud with something really good.  Hopefully that is true of this new one.

It's a soundtrack to an old silent movie, and yes it's short (31 min.). Haven't heard it yet, but it's supposed to be great (as a soundtrack).

Band of Skulls. Impression from first listen is that it's remarkably unremarkable. Will have to listen again when not at work.

There's also Sleigh Bells, Fanfarlo, and The Ting Tings.

That was my impression as well. Did you get Fanfarlo to work? It didn't start playing for me but maybe I didn't wait long enough.

I am still loving that Shearwater album. Still undecided about Tennis.

No Fanfarlo for me either.
