Had to stop reading when he said he didn't like Juno.  The rest is irrelevant.

Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth: The Golden Age – She’s up for a sequel to 1998’s Elizabeth yet the Academy overlooked Keanu Reeves in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey.  Talk about an injustice.

Amy Ryan for Gone Baby Gone – Lots of buzz here, and she could be the winner.  Did you know Ben Affleck directed this film and it received good reviews?

I looooooooooved GONE, BABY, GONE. I totally recommend that everyone rents it once it's out on DVD. Amy Ryan was brilliant here. Totally night and day from her character on THE WIRE. I didn't even recognize her.

OK, it's one thing not to like the movie.  I can see that.  But to completely dismiss the quality of the acting in the film, especially by the lead, shows an ignorance that allows me to dismiss the opinion out of hand.  It would've been SO easy to turn that character into a completely self-obsessed airhead.  Page did a great job with it.  One of the 5 best of the year?  Maybe not.  But certainly not a simple sleepwalk through sporting a pregnant belly.

Personally, I think Amy Adams should be up for her work in Enchanted.  But I didn't see that as likely, considering those types of movies rarely are given much credit.

Can't wait to see There Will Be Blood.  It so looks like its right up my alley.

Hey everybody, this is the writer of the article and yeah, I'm in the minority with disliking Juno but I feel like I've seen it all before, from Wes Anderson to Napoleon Dynamite and the subplot of Stranger than Fiction with Will Ferrell's dream of playing rock music.

I would like to add to my mini review since it seemed like I dismissed it too quickly.

The first 15 minutes were painfully unfunny, while the last 15 were very sweet and heartwarming.  In between were a lot of pop culture references, contrived plot devices, and unrealistic dialog that sounded more like characters talking in catch phrases.

I feel exactly the same way about Juno as Rock does.  Although there actually was one somewhat awesome acting performance which single-handedly salvaged what would have been total POS into something almost worth watching.

It wasn't Ellen Page, though.

Unbelievably, it was Jennifer Garner.  She should get a Best Supporting Actress nod for that.
