"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book from J.K. Rowling's mega-selling series, will be made into not one, but two, movies.

As first reported Wednesday by the Los Angeles Times, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I will hit theaters in November 2010, to be followed six months later, in Kill Bill and Matrix fashion, by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II in May 2011."

Boooooooooooo.
What the hell are you booing about?  They should have done this with Order of the Pheonix and should do it with Half Blood Prince as well.  They have to cut these books way too much to make them into even three hour movies.  I hated OOTP the movie, it was not even close to the book.

OTOH as Butter is intimating they really need to speed up the production on these.  Not only are the kiddies getting old but they're going to loose another Dumbledore.

That new Dumbledore is a jackass anyways.  I say good riddance.

And...great...now they get two movies to fuck the story up with instead of just one.  Roll Eyes

The reason they fuck the story up is that they can't retell the story properly in two or three hours.  If they do two movies for each then they have four or five hours to do it in.  I think they stand a better chance that way.

So what's the final verdict? I enjoyed both of them. Since I haven't read the book since it was initially released, I can't remember enough details to be upset by any changes. Otherwise, I agree with poolio's review in the 50 films of 2011 thread - including the awesome music. And Alan Rickman...sigh.
