The jug of olive oil they sell at Sam's is so hard to open.
Which is the complete opposite of your mom's legs.
I laughed really hard at this.

Soup makers take note: remember to remove your herb satchel before using an immersion blender.
Unless you stove, wall and refrigerator are all going as the rear window in Pulp Fiction for Halloween, that is.
And I laughed really hard at this one.
Hope you had fun cleaning up that Bonnie Situation.

Made the caramel pecan turtle bars tonight. Haven't tried them yet, as they are still chilling in the fridge. Hoping they will be ok, although I had to substitute bread flour for the all-purpose flour because I ran out of all-purpose the other day and only had bread flour at hand. Bread flour usually makes for a drier crust; fingers crossed that it won't compromise the taste of the bars too much.
Update: The crust is a little drier/crumblier than it should be, but OMG what a great recipe. The combo of Werther's caramels and Ghirardelli chocolate makes for a very rich, delicious candy. It's almost too good to give to my coworkers. I want to eat it all myself!!

Tomorrow, I get to throw down with a Richard's Steak Sandwich, Hamiton's finest culinary offering. I'm pretty sure I'll be thinking about it for the next 30+ hours. Dr000000000000000000000000l.

A guy I know tells me every once in a while that even though we've never been to Richard's and had steak sandwiches together doesn't mean we can't be friends. Didn't realize it was such an institution.

The sandwich is ON the garlic bread, which is the #1 reason that it is sooooooooo good.

Whole Foods in Upper Arlington was out of arugula today. This is a catastrophe.

Today, in my office, it smells like someone nuked a tub of bleu cheese in the microwave until it exploded.

Does anyone else get really stiff hands and weird, peeling skin after prepping butternut squash? I'm really susceptible to capsaicin and have to wear gloves when chopping chillis, so I'm not sure if it's just my pathetically sensitive hands.

I never have any problems with prepping butternut squash. I think it's just your pathetically sensitive hands, Lutz.

No, but it's yet another reason I can put in my arsenal of reasons why I won't eat butternut squash.

The article says that redheads are extremely resistant to capsaicin burning, so that means I'm definitely not a ginge!

Oops. Sorry, I mis-read that part. Considerable error, too. Still...any excuse to post an article about redheads is good enough.
