Saw a really great movie with Robin Williams and Kevin Spacey yesterday called Shrink, but it has no distributor yet so we can't do a full review on it. Only give it a brief mention, probably in an article re-cap.

There are just a certain list of reviews that are on a "Hold Review." We're allowed to do a very brief description, like in the list of previews we did, but not a full-on review (like the Yes Men story) that gives out a lot of info.

Seems somewhat silly to me also, but it's how it is and it was like this last year. I'll still mention it in my wrap-up story about the whole festival.

Someone was NOT happy with a preview we did on the SIFF Previews Part 2. I hope Pam doesn't get really upset, but me personally, hate comments always put a smile on my face. At least I know it's being read    Wink

I suspect this kind of festival is always going to attract/unearth the "pretentious moi?" brigade of self-righteous intellectual wannabes. I think you're right to find the comment funny.

Good job I'm not reviewing the films for you JR - I reckon I would be even more 'honest' somehow.

Whilst a picture is certainly worth a thousand words, nobody said they all have to be good!

Right, and like I said out on the comment section is that the bigger purpose is to make people aware of the films in the first place. There is still a reason for a person not living in Seattle to read about the films in this festival. They can become aware of the films, keep them in mind for when they get released in public or demand their local theatre to pick the film up...

And yes, while we do try to mostly talk about stuff we like, I think it's important to be honest too. That one film I gave a rating of .5 out of 5. I'm saving people from the pain of seeing it!!!
