4. District 9- Liked this a lot.  Pretty different.
I couldn't get through 10 minutes of this.

Or us. 10 minutes was about all we gave it too. Just looked dumb. As I've said elsewhere I probably abandoned more films in 2009 than the rest of my movie watching life put together. Films that I was really looking forward to too (like "Public Enemies"). Just gimme a bit of substance to go with the style and the hype please.

Plus, look at this.... 4 days into 2010 and have I watched a movie yet? Nope. (This will doubtless be rectified when tomorrow's new releases hit our library)

1) The Hangover - It was funny I guess.  Never been to Vegas, so a lot of it was lost on me.
2) Inglorious Basterds - Pretty kickass when Brad Pitt was on the screen.  Still cool otherwise.
3) District 9 - One of the best Sci-Fi movies I've ever seen.  I'm buying this one to add to my DVD collection of like 20 films.
4) G-Force - About as lame as I figured it would be.  I'm still amazed Tracy Jordan does voice overs for kids movies.

You say this as though you are proud of it.  You were willing to spend two hours to watch the whole thing and yet you couldn't give it more than ten minutes to get past the setup?  This film had more substance than all of the alien flicks I've ever seen combined.  You screwed yourself out of a good movie is what you did.

Films watched for the first time in Bold
1 • Sherlock Holmes
Wank. Semi-stylish wank. But wank nevertheless

As distressing as this wank was, I was equally as horrified by the trailer for Iron Man 2 which looked just.... awful. In fact every single trailer shown before SH - and I can't even recall what they all were now - seemed terrible.

1. Triplets of Belleville
2. The Road - Loved the movie. That said, I don't think I could bear to watch it again. Way too stressful.
3. Paris, je t'aime - The final vignette was my favorite for the moment the character has on the bench. For anyone who sometimes travels alone, like me lately, it captured the exact feeling you get.

Where did you see The Road?  I didn't even know it was out yet.  I've read the book and I have to say it was the most depressing book I've ever read.  At the same time, I could not put it down and read the whole thing in one night.

Movies seen in 2010 (new movies in bold):
1. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
2. Wall Street
3. National Treasure

4. Die Another Day

GI Joe was lame, although I admit I enjoyed staring at Sienna Miller and Rachel Nicols (sp?).

Wall Street was good, although kinda predictable. Darryl Hannah was SMOKING back in the day. Dayyum, she was angelic.

Nat Treasure: I hate Nicolas Cage, so I'd avoided this as long as possible. Definitely enjoyed the other two main characters, though, as well as Jon Voight and Sean Bean.

Utter rubbish. Cost $10,000 to make apparently. Difficult to know where the money was spent. Looking in the mirror each morning is scarier.
