Time to get started!
1. Kevin Selfe & The Tornadoes @ Highway 99 Blues Club, Seattle. 01/09 Pretty basic Texas blues from a less than basic, phenomenal guitar player in Kevin Selfe

Damn good show!

1. Beth Orton @ The Bell House, Brooklyn, NY 01/18/10
I knew this was going to go one of two ways - full sound with a backing band and some great times... or her on stage with an acoustic guitar boring the crap out of me. Sadly, it went boring route. I was dying. She took one of my favorite songs, Stolen Car, and made me pretend I was listening to the cd instead of her and her guitar.
She also stopped in the middle of her songs to start over b/c she "messed up". Endearing once or twice perhaps, but to do it 6 or 8 times? What am I paying all this money for?

McCready (Pearl Jam) had 3/5 of his band on stage with members of Soundgarden and GnR for a fantastic cover band jam night. Great musicians playing for a great cause

3 for 3 regarding seeing shows in Brooklyn. You'd think I moved there recently or something. Alas, I actually moved farther away from Brooklyn. WTF?

I FUCKING HATE Newport's Funnybone club, moreso since they switched venues at the Levee. Staff are all standoffish, ticket office is a fucking joke, seating is cramped and stupidlly laid out, food is almost all overpriced shit and they can't market themselves or the comics they contract to save their fucking life. If there's a business that DESERVES to go tits up in this economy it's them - they don't give a shit about their customers or their performers.

7. The Super Suckers @ El Corazon, Seattle 03/12 Not really my cup of tea, but I went there for a friend's birthday. Talented guitar players and drummer though.

7. March 25 - Ben Folds with the North Carolina Symphony, Meymandi Concert Hall, Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Raleigh
8. March 26 - North Carolina Symphony, Meymandi Concert Hall, Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Raleigh -
Silver Screen and Red Carpet
9. March 27 - Wilco, Durham Performing Arts Center, Durham
Ben Folds was lots of fun. My seat was in the choir loft, so he looked in my direction when watching the conductor. The symphony was there for most of the show, but the encore was just him and the piano. Songs went back to Ben Folds Five days to the newest album.
Wilco was a great show; I just wished I had been more familiar with them before the show. I found out Saturday morning that my friends had an extra ticket, so I decided to go. What I didn't realize was that we'd be in row A! (The orchestra pit was covered with rows 1 & 2, so not technically front row.) We could touch the stage from our seats, though, as we were at the right edge of the stage and the temporary rows didn't extend that far. We were right in front of Pat Sansone, who I now have a bit of a crush on. I felt like several of them (Jeff, Pat, and Glenn) looked right at me. They started at 8:17 and finished at 11:05, with just a short break at the end before the encore. I couldn't believe they played an almost 3 hour show. Lots of fun, and I've been listening to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot all day today (as that's the only album I have - thanks to rva).
