1. Extract
2. Midnight Cowboy

Beautifully filmed, and I'm sure it pushed the boundaries at the time (1969), but after 75 minutes it just couldn't hold my attention. Ended up reading instead.

1. I'M NOT THERE - DVD - 01/16/10
2. PROM NIGHT - Encore - 01/30/10
3. Sueño - DVD - 02/15/10 - John Leguizamo plays a Mexican who immigrates to America and wants to become a singer/songwriter. HORRIBLE film. First, Leguizamo is playing MUCH younger than he is and just comes off looking creepy. Second, he can't sing for SHIT and he can't pretend to strum a guitar. AT ALL. He gets his confidence from a Luchador poster that comes to life. I'm not kidding. HORRIBLE. I only picked it up because it was one of the few films I could find that had José María Yazpik in the cast. I barely made it to the part when he finally showed up in the film...and then I turned it off. Yuck. 25 minutes wasted.

4. HOW I MARRIED MY HIGH SCHOOL CRUSH - On Demand - 04/03/10 - I thought I'd give this a go since it stars Katee Sackhoff. UH - HELLO!?!?!? But, it was hooooooorrible. I watched maybe the first 20 minutes and HAD to turn it off.

Actually, Jude, Julia & Natalie, I think further away would be FAR more appropriate. Please disappear there now.

4. HOW I MARRIED MY HIGH SCHOOL CRUSH - On Demand - 04/03/10
5. CONVERSATION(S) WITH OTHER WOMEN - DVD from Library - 04/16/10 - Split-screen nonsense. Blah. I could see the script working as a play. But, as a film, DULLLLLLLLLSvillezzzzzzzz. Watched maybe 25 minutes.
6. LAKEVIEW TERRACE - Encore OnDemand - 04/17/10 - The trailers from this movie stressed me out and I knew there was no way I'd see it in the theatre. But, I thought I'd give it a go when I saw it was available in the OnDemand menu. Watched about 30 minutes before I could no longer handle all the tension. GAH!

Watched about 30 minutes before I died from predictability, general poor acting and a weak plotline. GAH!

It's definitely how I interpreted what you said.  Tension = Boring

1. Rushmore (Yes, yes, I know but it was like pulling teeth for me. My date was lucky I sat through to the 45 minute mark).
2. The punisher: war zone (it hasn't been put in the dvd player yet, but I can already tell it's one I'm going to run away from within 10 minutes or less).

3. Stormy Monday - Tommy Lee Jones, Sting, Melanie Griffith (post Cherry 2000), and a very young Sean Bean couldn't save this movie for me.

2001: A Space Odyssey
Time Warner Cable broadcast this last night. I found it ironic that their showing of a movie extolling the imperfections of a supposedly foolproof computer was itself lacking in digital quality. The channel (Turner Movie Classics) was buffering all night, rendering this movie quite unwatchable by Intermission. Freezing and stuttering would not have been tolerated by a 1968-era Kubrick's (nor Arthur C. Clark's) imagination.
