I know we've been asked to let a few folks catch up before we talk, so I won't go into too much detail.

I will say this...

1. FROGURT!
2. Sol Star... my my my, from Deadwood to Lost
3. Um... I find this divergence to be something that will probably be somewhat lame and "easy way out"

Why would we wait for folks to catch up?  It's always been assumed that there are spoilers in the Lost thread.  On the other hand anything from episodes yet to be aired, leaks, previews and whatnot should be posted as spoilers.

From this point on read at your own risk... there be spoilers here.

With that out of the way...

So are we watching two parallel universes at the same time?

The not-Locke guy seems like a bitch.

Who the eff are the dudes in the temple and why did they drown Sayid?

Where are Michael, Walt, Vincent and Juliette (I'm sure there are others) in the non-island storyline?

Agh!  So much info, so few answers.

a couple things that struck me:

First off - Cindy the Stewardess is back.  Remember early on in the season when she just vanished without a sound when she and some Losties were walking up a hill?  It seems like last night as they were walking through the temple they did the same thing, especially when Kate disappeared ahead of everyone else, only they seem to know about it and are able to control it.  When her people asked her who the Losties were, she said that they were "on the second plane with her", which I read to mean that she knew she was on a plane that was going down and was put on the plane for a reason, possibly to guide/accompany the Losties to the island?

Second - this is the second time that we have seen her since she originally "disappeared" from the hill.  The first time was when she briefly appeared on Hydra Island along with some other "Others" and a bunch of kids, who we assumed were the kids that were kidnapped on the island in Season 1.  As far as I can remember, we haven't seen any indications of where the kids went or who took them, with the exception of the teddybear-dragging scene in the jungle and scenes of the Others' camp when we first met Ben's people at the fake camp where they held Walt in Season 2.

We've seen a return of "a list" with the one that the Japanese guy pulled out of the ankh.

Smokey is a badass.  But what is he up to?

Yes, the evil facial expressions on non-Locke are somewhat disconcerting.

Looks as if they're definitely going the Jacob/Esau (good/evil) slant this season with the parallel universe thing in tow.

Since the man in black / Esau / non-Locke looks as if he's amassing an offensive, I'm sure that'll be the crux of the season. However, I'm wondering how the "good" Losties with non-Locke will get back with the other group.

In any case, it looks like a season with a lot of answers and new questions all over again that should be decent.

Oh, also someone posted a comparison video of the first season's opening minutes to this season's opening minutes...

From what I've heard, Kate's name was *not* on Jacob's wall.
What does that mean?

Who knows? I was surprised when he said "last but not least" and thought, where was Kate's name? But, I'm sure that there had to be other names that he didn't say, right? Where was Claire's name? Ben's? Walt's?

Eh. I'm back to being Zen about the whole thing. LOVED this episode, though. I could watch Locke and Sawyer together all day long.

From what I understood, not all of the Losties were candidates.  Sun and Jin's last name was up there once and Smokey didn't know which it was supposed to be.

I'm liking this season a lot.  I'm seeing all kinds of stuff from previous seasons being folded into the last one.  I really didn't get the whole alternate univers/flash sideways thing at first.  Last episode brought it together.  I think that the two realities will merge at the initial crash site.  For a while there, I thought alterna-Locke would go to Jack and fix his paralysis and then when the realities merge, that would explain why he could walk.  Something similar might happen with Rose.  i don't know.  It's a fun ride so far.

I think I spent at least an hour today reading through our old LOST threads.

Sayid....I don't know how they always manage to kind of redeem him, then make him an ahole every season...
I mean Jeez, he shot a kid last season, and I had all but forgotten...

Ben's reaction to finding Sayid by the Lazarus pool...GD.  Michale Emmerson is AMAZING.  I wonder if anybody has told him that Sayid shot him when he was a kid yet?

And what did Claire and Not-Locke do with Jin?
Or Sawyer?

Is there a secret Smoke Monster HQ somewhere where they're stashing the "recruits?"  Are they going to get decoder rings?  Is Smokey going to tell them to drink their Ovaltine?

And I can't believe what went on with Dogan this episode.  I think it's really funny that he's a modern guy.  I was, for some reason, assuming he was some sort of pirate or from ancient Samauri times, who didn't age, like Richard Alpert.  Nope, he's a banker from the (near) present.  How'd he get to the Island?  On the sub?  I guess Ben and Richard get him like they got Juliet....

Ugh.  Just love the show.

I didn't buy how quickly Sayid sold out to Smokey.  But, he didn't go around killing people he knew, but a bunch of jerks that wanted him dead anyways, so I guess no sweat.

I bet Smokey has his own version of the temple somewhere on the island.  I get the feeling that neither he nor Jacob are the good or bad but two sides of the same thing.  It seems like they both get people dead or put into bad situations.  Smokey's a little more direct about it, but I'm not wholly convinced that one side is any better than the other.

So far so good.  Still a fun ride.  I'm sad that the season is 1/3rd over.
