New Pernice Brothers Album coming 6/15

Man, as much as I love the Pernice Brothers I just can't see myself getting this album.

For one thing, they're kind of depressing.  For another, their stuff is all the same.  Which I don't mean in a bad way, but it's just like could it possibly be better than Yours, Mine, and Ours or Chappaquidick Skyline?  I doubt it.  Simply because those albums are so good they are impossible to top.  It could be AS good.  But then, I don't need to hear new depressing shit when I already have and enjoy the hell out of the current depressing shit.

It kinda sucks when a band does that.  They put out something so awesome that all they can do is either put out carbon copies or else go in a new direction, which odds are I won't like as much because their old direction.  The odds of you having enough talent AND tastes that coincide so closely with mine that you can do a whole new style and I like it just as much are impossibly slim.

I don't think they're all the same at all.  Live a Little and Discover a Lovelier You are similar but very different from The World Won't End and Yours, Mine and Ours and Overcome by Happiness is completely different still.  I like them all for different reasons, OBH is probably my least favorite though but I have never really spent a lot of time with it.

I've got to admit that I don't much care for the song that they're giving away from the new one.
