Yeah, I flipped right past Mike & Molly.

LOL, so I should just pass on it then? I don't need any help falling asleep right now.

That's what I'm hearing, too, on yesterday's Fall TV podcast from Bill Simmons and Alan Sepinwall.

Yeah, I flipped right past Mike & Molly.

The first five minutes was wall to wall fat jokes, including one where a thin person was going into a public john to "light up a fatty" and turned to an OA member and said "No offense".  Truly horrible.  We really liked Melissa McCarthy in Gilmore Girls, I can't imagine why she would have signed up for this low brow garbage.

That's a pity, I was kinda looking forward to that show because of her. I missed last night's episode because of something shiny and was going to look it up online but I guess I'll skip.

I read somewhere a few months ago that Mike & Molly was specifically created to fill the void (unintentional, yet unapologetic pun) left vacant since Rosanne was on the air.

The working-class fat people demographic was anticipated as ripe for the picking.

According to Tom Arnold it would take quite a lot to fill Rosanne's void.

Didn't care for "Terriers". Gave it two episodes but still didn't like the dynamic. Quite liked the first epi of "Outlaw" but why has Jimmy Smits started talking like Shatner's Kirk? Time will tell on that one.

"Ma's Roadhouse" was the wrong side of trashy reality.

Still watching and trying to fathom out "Rubicon", missing "Leverage", haven't watched "The Event" but not expecting much. Wanting the return of "Parking Wars"!

However a whole slew of UK television shows have started back up too so we have plenty to amuse ourselves with: Season 3 of the "Inbetweeners", Season 9 of "Spooks" (aka MI5), "8 out of 10 cats", "Mock the Week", "Grand Designs" and "This is England '86"

I'm still hearing good things about Mike & Molly.  One online place (E? EW?  No clue which) said you have to keep watching past the pilot.  I don't think I can bring myself to.

And yet they appear to be staying away in droves.  Take me, for instance...

Maybe it's the working-class fat people in a relationship with someone who shares the same initials as their first name demographic.

Now those people are ripe for the picking.

Not enough shows about working-class dangerously thin people on the telly. Why is it that the Fatties get all the spotlights, fanfare and red-carpet treatment? Spare a thought for us disenfranchised tinribs, Murdoch. you cunt.

I need a new job and am quite willing to take a role in "Mengele Idol".

CR reviews of new shows...

The Event = "Non"
Hawaii Five-0 = "Hawaii Five No"

I didn't realize yesterday when I was commenting on The Event that we hadn't actually finished the episode.  Now that we have finished the episode, Chandler has the following to say:  "Could they be trying any harder to be Lost?"
