“Your question reminds me of this Albert Camus quote: 'A man's work is nothing but the slow trek to discover, through the detours of art, those two or three great and simple images in whose presence his heart first opened.' It really is that same feeling I keep trying to find, again and again..." ”

Not certain if its legit yet, but Outback is supposedly giving away one million steaks at
the link above. It has a countdown clock for something, but thats what people are saying its for.

It was free steaks, but they are now gone.

I guess it's worth noting that you can still get a $5 off coupon by going to that URL.  Better than nothing.

Unfortunately, this means having to visit a Max & Erma's...

October is National Cookie Month, but Erma of Max & Erma’s in Cincinnati just couldn’t wait any longer. Starting today, Max & Erma’s guests can enjoy free chocolate chip cookies. That’s today and every Wednesday until, well, Erma gets tired of baking or runs out of cookie dough. In fact, Max & Erma’s goal is to give away one million cookies by the end of the year.

Guests who purchase any food item at participating restaurants, including appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts, will receive two of Erma’s famous chocolate chip cookies for free.

Free Cookie Wednesday restaurants are located in these communities: Ann Arbor, Detroit, Canton, Cincinnati, including Northern Kentucky, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, Indianapolis, Pittsburg and Norfolk.

For far less than it would cost to eat over priced drek at M&As you could buy a tub of Pillsbury spoon and bakes and be far happier for your efforts.

Yeah, they could offer free beer and I wouldn't darken the doorway of a Max & Erma's again. And I think everyone knows how much I love free beer.

Randomvillians with kids might be interested in this:

Kids 12 and under can get a FREE "scary face" pancake as part of IHOP's "No Tricks-Just Treats" event on Friday, Oct. 28 from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

The "design your own scary face" pancake includes an over-sized signature buttermilk pancake with whipped topping mouth and strawberry nose, served with two mini Oreo cookies and candy corn on the side for kids to create their own Halloween face.
