1. Intimate Strangers / Black Tape for a Blue Girl @ The Knitting Factory, Brooklyn, NY 1/14/2011
The new Knitting Factory is impressive and a much better space than their old Manhattan digs. Too bad they can't get anyone with even a little buzz to play there. Both bands were fine - glad I saw them, wouldn't have cared if I missed them. It was just nice to see live music again for the first time in a while.

1) Cowboy Mouth @ Southgate House 2/21/11 - Awesome show as always. First time they have sold out SGH, so there were a lot of new people who weren't sure what the hell was going on.

2) Those Darlins and The Old 97s @ Southgate House 2/23/2011 - Holy crap the Old 97s put on an awesome show. And I was really impressed by Those Darlins. Old 97s just got added to the list of bands I won't miss when they are in town.

I wanted Pela, which isn't fair, but what I kept thinking all night. A fine show - it was only their 8th ever - and we didn't stay for the headliners.

3. Okkervil River / Titus Andronicus @ Terminal 5, NYC 6/7/2011
A fine show. I hated TA's first song, but then dug the rest of their set. They are a one-trick pony, but man do they have that one trick down pat. Although they did do a DMB-style jam in the middle of one of their songs with solos, so perhaps they are talented musicians after all. It was very cool to see/hear.
Okkervil were fine, but I only knew three of the songs they played, which was a disappointment for me personally.
