Do you need a job?

Do you enjoy talking to people on the phone, or at the very least, not mind it too much?
Do you know what a computer is, and how to turn it on? What about a keyboard and mouse? Do you know what they are? Do you know how to type in things like "payment" and "add a vehicle" into a little white box and hit "search?"
Do you live in the greater Dayton area?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, PM me....or don't pm me.
Snoopy is hiring through temp places. Classes start in like 2 weeks.
Only downside- you'd have to go through a temp place to start. Manpower or Adecco here near the Dayon Mall are the 2 main ones we're hiring through. It's for Auto & home customer service, and disability insurance.
Trust me, you don't have to know anything about insurance.
No idea what the pay is. If you work out and make it through training they will usually hire after a few months.
If I'm wrong and the deadline for this class has passed, a new bunch will probably start getting hired on sometime in March.

Anybody who had taken or been offered this job would probably have been promoted 3 times by now over the people they have that are passing for "ASP's" here right now. We literally have no promotable candidates in the office because they are either too stupid or too self-important to be seriously considered.
I think they are still paying like $25-30k, even nearly 4 years later, so that speaks to the crappy job market out there right now.
We just hired another ASP (for another department) who I sized up as non-promotable nearly on the spot. Crossing my fingers for no turnover this year, for once, otherwise I am screwed.

We have 2 very good jobs open right now. One is an administrative assistant, during which if you show any aptitude AT ALL, you will be promoted to my department within 6 months - 1 year.
The second is a job in my department, but not supervised by me.
Both don't start out at the greatest pay ever, but with this job market you really can't expect it to.
But my company is very healthy, growing 15+% this year alone, that is on top of double digit growth years in the last 4, and with Kroger basically cutting outside support on their internal operations down from other companies EXCEPT ours. My only real risk comes from a leadership change at Kroger OR a surprise sale of the company by our current sole owner/operator.
If anyone is interested, let me know NOW and I can get your resume to the right people.
If you reference "Butter" in the interview, I will hunt you down and bury you in my backyard with the other hobos.

Do I get to play Football Manager at work? If so, $50k annual and I'm all yours.

If you are efficient enough at your job, you can probably squeeze it in there yeah. Not to the extent I was doing it though. Say 1-2 hours a day though, sure.

You didn't say no to the $50k, if that's accurate I might want the details...

How much they offer you for the job in my department is commensurate with your experience. Anyone they hire flat out of nowhere would probably start in the low 40's. But they could offer less (note I said PROBABLY... could be more like 36-38k). The people under me have had 3 raises in the last year though, so you move up quickly. Competitive salaries for similar jobs with large companies like P&G and Pepsi easily start in the 70's and 80's... and you can easily reach 6 figures if you stay in for 10 years and move up... and aren't an idiot.

Commensurate with your experience... in that field? :p
I could be an excellent administrative assistant. I've just never been one before.

Yeah, in our field. We would pay someone we didn't have to train as much a little more. As noted, we're talking like maybe a 5k difference so it's not crazy or anything.

Let me clarify this by saying you could reach 6 figures... with someone else in 10 years. I am by no means saying we give a 6 figure salary to anyone... hell, i know my boss doesn't even make 6 figures so no one in my department makes that. But he is close. I will never be at his level unless he dies or quits first.
I should probably quit talking now.

Uhhh wait... administrative assistants START in the 70-80k range in some places? And can make over $100k in six years? And $40k is considered a crappy salary?
And people say government employees are overpaid. We just advertised a research position that probably legitimately requires a graduate degree at $45k. And that person could work 30 years and retire and still never make $100k.
But then again we do have those massive pension plans. You know, the ones that are bankrupting the government and need to be taken away from us immediately.

No, not administrative assistants. Those that do my job, or something similar. Definitely NOT administrative assistants.
