Too bad you get Girl in a Coma.  Although I imagine they'd be pretty fun live.

But still, Beady Eye would be a great double bill for you.

*BUMP*

This is tomorrow! This might well end up being one of the top shows of the year (for me anyway).

Any DC boarders attending?

Found this blurb from the Orange County Register's review of the LA show a few days ago:

Quote
Young Belgian duo Black Box Revelation lived up to their name with a garage rock-centric, half-hour opening set reminiscent of Black Keys and White Stripes. Vocalist Jan Patermoster played dirty blues guitar runs and Dries Van Dijck provided thunderous drums.

Together since ’05, the pair recorded a couple albums back home in Brussels . The Shiver of Joy EP is available Stateside; full-length effort My Perception is due out here next year.

In L.A. , the serrated guitar work on “Sealed with Thorns,” intense “High on a Wire,” “I Think I Like You” (where Van Dijck created quite a racket) and the EP’s melodic title track provided the most impact.

I am SO excited to finally see these guys live, having listened to their first 2 studio albums endlessly. And getting to see Beady Eye ain't too shabby either.

Holy crap! What a show this was!

BBR put on their blazing 30 min. opening set which blew people away. None of the people standing around me had ever heard of the band, but I heard plenty of positive comments afterwards.

Interestingly, the band is selling a new EP at these shows, which I sorta expected to be an "introductory" EP for US audiences, but in fact it's a brand new 6 track EP, with no overlap whatsoever to any earlier releases, including the new album they just released in September.

Ended up buying a band T as well, simply to support the band.

After a short 30 min. break Beay Eye  came on and equally blew me away. Most remarkably for me was Liam's cheery attitude. I think this is the very first time ever that he didn't have that angry/pissy attitude that he carried with him almost constantly in the Oasis days. Liam smiled, bounced around the stage, sang and smiled some more. And the set was outstanding.

This was the Beady Eye setlist:

1.Four Letter Word
2.Beatles and Stones
3.Millionaire
4.Two of a Kind
5.For Anyone
6.Three Ring Circus
7.The Roller
8.In the Bubble With a Bullet
9.Bring the Light
10.Standing on the Edge of the Noise
11.Kill for a Dream
12.The Beat Goes On
13.Man of Misery
14.The Morning Son
15.Wigwam
Encore:
16.World Outside My Room
17.Sons of the Stage (World of Twist cover)

Love the 9:30 Club as a concert venue. This was possibly the best show of the year for me...
