Great 2012 albums for me so far (in no particular order):

Chairlift - Something
The Bog Pink - Future This
Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

You're batting .333. Keep that up and you'll be an All Star someday, kid.

Kinda like Beach Boys meets Battles meets Beta Band.
Too many Bs for my liking.

I dunno. It's kinda samey-sounding to me. The fuzz/buzz wears on me.
I'll take "change of key" for $200, Alex.

Batting .333 is an All-Star average, so thanks, I think I'm already there  Wink

Doing well 8% into the season does not an All Star make.

For those who care, the Mark Lanegan Band album, Blues Funeral, is solid. Nothing spectacular but it doesn't need to be.

Early favs thus far:

Various Artists - The Lemon Tape (a collection of Montreal psych-pop that is perfect for unusually sunny days)
Chris Zabriskie - Undercover Vampire Policeman (d/l it for free from his website--if you like minimal piano, this is a must hear)
Victor Villarreal - Invisible Cinema (from the Cap'n Jazz/Joan of Arc guitarist; damn good and damn catchy)

The (Richard Swift produced) new Damien Jurado is probably my favorite album of his since I Break Chairs.  And I got a new appreciation for it when he recently said it was heavily influenced by a lot of the Jesus People Movement obscure Christian psych/folk records from the 60s/70s which I have been digging up for a few years now myself via a couple of a wonderful resources.  Great, great record.

Looking forward to purchasing the django django album after February pay day. It was released the other day, and the three tunes i've heard are grand.

Not bad. Kind of reminds me of The Beta Band at times.

Yeah, they're definitely interesting.

Kinda like Beach Boys meets Battles meets Beta Band.
Good call. I like them well enough, but may not buy the album after all. Your "two songs in a row" thoughts are pretty much mirrored by me now. a couple of terrific songs on there, though.
