Apologies if a thread like this already exists. (I looked but didn't see one.)

Having little to no attention span I like seeing music recommendations in simple form, so...

If you like Zola Jesus and Braids, you might like Esben And The Witch.

If you like Zola Jesus, then you might like Cocteau Twins.

After listening to the album, I thought of Cockney that Rebel. If Nika Roza Danilova doesn't conjure up visions of Siouxsie Sioux, I'm not sure who does. Is She Siouxsie's daughter?

I tried but I didnt. Sorry Jeff - good to hear the Hammond in it but they seemed like a bad Deep Purple cover band to me... but with none of the skills. The drummer would've sounded better if they'd simply recorded him throwing his kit down a large flight of stairs.

Plus, a shit name. They've never heard of Little Feat? Now THAT, ladles and jellyspoons, was a motherfucking band!!

See, I actually feel that way about Rival Sons.  I dig the hard rock/classic sound enough to dig Rival Sons okay despite their lack of orginality, but they really come across like a generic Led Zep cover band a lot of the time.  Whereas I think Little Feat Long Feat do a better job of stripping down their sound and drawing as much from Sabbath and even country as they do Led Zep.  And the female vocals and the Hammond give it a different spin as well.

But I do see your point.  The line here is pretty thin, so I could easily see how one might love one band and hate the other.

If you like Wooden Shjips, you might like Loop.

(They're old, are Loop. Good, though)

Good analogy, Rafe. When I worked at the record store we were playing Fade Out one night and this customer came up to the counter and very matter-of-factly informed us that if we actually enjoyed listening to "that stuff playing right now," we were all on drugs. LOL
