“Personally, I find it relaxing to go to the local slaughterhouse every other week or so and eat my cheeseburger on the killing floor. It's like zen, but tastier.”

giving this another end of year spin. i like the overall temperature of this band and this album as well, it just stays a little too safe for the most part. i think they are decent, peppy songs but seem to be missing a key characteristic that allows for any individuality between them.

That's a very nice way of saying "samey."
I listened to this a couple times when it came out, and had a similar thought, but the word I settled on was "bland."

I am glad I am not the only one. I listened once and thought, well this is nice...but nothing stood out. Granted, I listened to it once and would like to give it another chance. It was bands like this this year that kind of let me down and so when I heard the new Black Keys I was thinking, YES! FINALLY! ROCK!
