giving this another end of year spin. i like the overall temperature of this band and this album as well, it just stays a little too safe for the most part. i think they are decent, peppy songs but seem to be missing a key characteristic that allows for any individuality between them.

That's a very nice way of saying "samey."

I listened to this a couple times when it came out, and had a similar thought, but the word I settled on was "bland."

I am glad I am not the only one. I listened once and thought, well this is nice...but nothing stood out. Granted, I listened to it once and would like to give it another chance. It was bands like this this year that kind of let me down and so when I heard the new Black Keys I was thinking, YES! FINALLY! ROCK!
