So I'm going to be in Indianapolis for a couple weeks for work. Don't know if I'll have much downtime or not, but does anyone know of any shows or anything I should check out? Where do the cool kids hang out in Indianapolis?

1. Probably not
2. Broad Ripple

I've enjoyed Indianapolis the few times I've visited, though I can't imagine I'd really enjoy it much staying a long period of time.  Broad Ripple is the city's type of area that I think you're describing, though from what I recall it doesn't actually have quite the urban feel you'd expect as it's more of just a continuation of the very clean downtown area.  I think as far as the amount of stuff to see/do I might compare it to the Oregon District, but I'm not a bar-hopper to compare that side of things.  Luna is a decent record store from what I remember, and there's a really good pizza place who's name escapes me, but the logo is a court jester.  I'm sure a lot of the restaurants in that area are pretty good if you're willing to splurge, which I didn't.  I heard Massachusetts Ave. is worth a visit too, but I never made it there.

Well, I'm officially in Indianapolis. Actually, Carmel but I drove through and I'll be in Indy proper tomorrow. I know a little about Broad Ripple, seems to be the local hipster hood. Not expecting to have a lot of time to kill while I'm up here but thanks for the tips, just the same.
