Wait, does my co-worker work in your office? Who still needs to have everything about how design works, printing, etc explained to her every day? Even though she has worked here over 5 years? And it one of our sales people? But is always right and we are always wrong and throws us under the bus any chance she gets.

It might be the same person, though my coworker is male in this situation. And we're not in sales, but that doesn't mean anything, really. Definitely the bus throwing and extended period of service!

co-worker:  I'm going to send out an email to all schools about the changes we're making for this data collection.  So I need all your changes by close of business.

ZK:  Um... there's a lot of changes, and they aren't really related to each other.

co-worker:  I know, but I hate it when they call and they don't know what's going on.

ZK:  Well, then we should probably send out individual emails out a couple weeks before they are impacted, instead of vomiting out a gigantic email with 20 different notes on it to every school at once.  And you don't coordinate schools anymore, so you won't get any calls.  And you aren't making any of these changes so while I feel confident we'll get them all done on schedule, there's no reason to box us in.

co-worker:  But I'm doing all the work.  And I don't want to send out 5 different emails.  Why can't you make my job easier?

No one's asking you to do the work.  You don't have to do ANY of the work.  In fact, I'm asking you NOT to do the work.  Begging you, even.  How's this for easy?  Don't do anything.  Go home for the day.  I don't care.  Quit trying to organize shit that doesn't involve you at all and creates much more work for me, THE GUY WHO ACTUALLY HANDLES THIS SHIT. 

You're going to write an email so long that it requires a Word attachment.  50% of that attachment will not apply to any given school.  Another 25% is so far ahead of time that people won't remember.  And of the 25% that is relevant, 24% of that will be wasted words from you over-explaining the shit out of everything and just confusing everyone.

And then I will have to hear you bitch about how you sent out this laboriously detailed 99 page Word document that no one read, and probably half the people never even opened.  And then I will say "I told you so."  And then you will say "Well, it's not really my fault but you did tell me so sorry."  And that will not help me at all because I'll be the one stuck dealing with it while you figure out how to turn some other simple task into a month long project.

I am not a Giants fan, and I am rather annoyed by the fact that their parade has basically prevented me from getting lunch today, but after experiencing this outside my window I have to admit it was really thrilling to see Eli Manning and the Super Bowl trophy drive by. I also saw the truck with the Offensive Linemen in it, plus a lot of other parade nonsense.








Eli is the guy in the center, second from the front, in the gray coat, I believe. In there, although it's hard to see with my blurry photo, was two trophies. One was the Super Bowl trophy, obviously, and the other I am guessing was the MVP trophy from the game. I don't know who else was in that truck, but I'd guess Coughlin was in there and maybe some of the Maras. I don't know who the woman in front was.

I put this in the non-sports musings because a parade isn't a sport! And, um, all the non-sports fans in my office kind of liked seeing it out the window, too.

This morning I was putting away the clean dishes from last night. I kept dropping things and knocking things over, and it was really pissing me off. Just as my mood was shaping up to be foul I farted twice. They made that questioning kind of sound.
