Still waiting for this to kickoff at the Seattle Film Festival on May 29.  If it gets a good reaction, the they'll roll it out on a small basis nationwide.  Couple of good articles on the re-release.  The latest coming today with words from Mr. Donnie himself…

Also, here’s a look at the new poster…

Great movie and hopefully the re-release will turn into more than a "cult favorite."

It's worth it, but the re-release is the director's cut with about 20 additional minutes and some different edits.  Could always rent it and if you like it, wait for the re-release on DVD.

I think I'm going to wait until the director's cut comes out in the theaters. I can't believe they wouldn't release it nationally (although I doubt you'll be seeing it at any multiplexes).

i'm stoked about the director's cut having read about it....that's probably why the dvd is so cheap right now.

unfortunately, i heard some director commentary on the regular dvd that told me something i didn't wanna hear. Sad

I know!!!  The commentary reveals some stuff that is really important to the film, but that no one will ever catch otherwise.  Such as...

*SPOILER*

At the beginning of the film, when Donnie is riding his bike home, there's a shot of him on a neighborhood street...Frank's car passes him going the other direction.  =)
