James Bond fans getting screwed next year...

I can't say I'm shocked. but it looks like MGM is putting out a James Bond 40th Anniversary Boxset next year so everybody (myself included) will be suckered into buying the new collection.  

On a good note check out some of the rumored designs of the re-re-re-release...

Y'know, like many people, I've always thought of James Bond as being cool. But with James Bond marathons always on cable, I've come to realize just how lame most of the Bond movies are. "Dr. No", "Goldfinger", "Thunderball", "For Your Eyes Only" and "Goldeneye" are really the only good ones. That last one, "Die Another Day" was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. They need to reinvent the character. He's nothing more than various gadgets now. Especially in "Die Another Day", where they worked in all the gadgets from previous movies. They need to do to Bond what they're doing with Batman. Hand over the film to a smart director, and let him take Bond back to the basics. He drives a cool car, has sex, and shoots people.

THe first thing I think of when I see anything about James Bond is that SNL skit with Dylan McDermott playing Bond, and the doctor is telling him about all the diseases he has contracted.

"We thought only sharks could get this one"
