Since I've already watched more movies than read books, I thought I'd start a thread for them. To qualify, I'll either see them in the theater, on DVD, or on a channel that broadcasts movies in their entirety such as IFC. You're welcome to join me.

So far

1. The Wedding Banquet
2. Brokeback Mountain

I might be able to manage this, too. It's only 4 and change movies a month. And I should have my first two done fairly quickly.

There's probably going to be some overlap on our lists.

I'm in! So far I've seen ...

1. The Squid & the Whale
2. Wolf Creek (which made me sick to my stomach for two days; I hated it)
3. Four Brothers (DVD)

Brokeback Mountain is FINALLY opening in this godforesaken town on the 27th.

1. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
2. Kinsey

WTF was going on in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?  It has been a LONG time since I read the books, but that movie was all over the freaking place.  The best part was the dolphin musical number at the beginning.  It also seemed like the casting was just way off.  Very disappointing.

Because of the baby, the majority of films we'll see this year will either be rentals or out of the current collection. Here's what I can remember right now:

1. The philadelphia story
2. Sense & Sensibility
3. The 40 year-old Virgin
4. Star Wars: A New Hope
5. Enemy of the state

I'll be able to reach the 50 mark in no time. Part of my job is to watch DVDs (mainly music-based DVDs), so this will be enjoyable, though I've only managed to watch one movie so far this year:

The Wedding Crashers (DVD)

Hell, I can probably even make this goal. Though most, if not all, of mine will be on DVD.

1. Madagascar
2. The Hulk
3. 40 Year-Old Virgin
4. Wedding Crashers

Cool thread.  I stickied it for ease in finding it.

Pretty much all mine will be on DVD.  I got a ton from the library on Monday.

I'm gonna count Serenity since I just saw it on the big screen again this past weekend.

1.  Serenity
2.  Constantine (total pants!)
3.  The Notebook

Heh...I think we might need to up the goal based on the quick start out of the gate for some folks, but let's do it.

1. King Kong
2. Empire Strikes Back

Yeah, I definitely think the goal here should be 100, considering the far smaller time commitment it takes to watch a movie as compared to reading a book.

I don't care what you all think. If it's 50, I might be able to manage it. If it's 100, no freakin' way.

Let's keep it where it is and not make any hasty decisions.

Lethal Dose (oh, it was so horrific)
and I can't remember if I saw King Kong before or after January 1.
