So I take it no one has gotten their hands on a Wii yet?
I think Uselesstomato has one.

I think it's funny how immediately on that board people figured that the guy's pal got pissed and threw the wiimote. Like the guys on that site, I think a lot of people will be doing that.

The Wii launch in the UK was similarly marred by shortages, but that doesn't mean the over-reactions were any fucking less....

My boyfriend pre-ordered his Wii online more that a month ago, and it never arrived today. He's very disappointed as he took the day off just to play it. It might come tomorrow, but the weekend is ruined already.

I spent last Saturday night in a lawn chair on the curb outside Circuit City. I got a wii. I guess their stupid shortages worked on me. I wanted it more when it looked like I couldn't have it.
That said, it's tons of fun. We're having a mini wii party today featuring wii sports. Brian is currently playing Zelda on the wii.

I keep forgetting to print it out, but Nintendo has sent out an email to Wii owners reminding them that they're not actually supposed to LET GO of the controller at any point.
They CC'd Best Buy and probably every other retailer too I guess.

Well for those who haven't picked theirs up yet because you can't find one (like me), Target, Circuit City, and Best Buy are suposed to be receiving more for the 17th (Sunday). I might lawn chair this one, since it'll be a little warmer than past weekends.

Have you got a source on that. I don't want to freeze my ass off for nothing.

I finally got to play the Wii for the first time last night. It was okay, but I really wouldn't consider purchasing one. Wii sports was fun for a bit, but I got bored with it fairly quickly (played bowling and tennis). Rayman was really unimpressive to me. It's a bunch of minigames that aren't much different than the type of stuff you can find on any flash game website outside of using the Wii ontroller. Excite Truck was probably the best of the games I played, but I would put it as a solid 3 out of 5. It was fun, but the game itself was fairly hard to follow and know where you were supposed to be going.
The games were fun, but I can't imagine playing anything but Excite Truck for any period of time. I think last night made up my mind to pick up an Xbox 360, as DOA4 pushed me over the edge in choice.

Check the forums on Amazon on the wii page. That's how I found out where to camp when we got ours. Also, the major stores put their Sunday ads online late Saturday night, so you can double check.
