i hit up Best Buy today on lunch break (fabo: holiday work schedules) and saw the PS3 for the first time.  holy crap, those machines are HUGE.

i don't understand why Sony opted to keep the power brick inside the unit and not outside like the 360.  at least with the power brick on the outside, you can keep the (much smaller) console out in the open and hide the brick behind your tv or entertainment center.  and what happens when the power brick dies?  i read that, since the PS3's rechargeable batteries for the controllers are not replaceable, you have to ship the controller back to Sony when the battery dies (or go buy a new $50 controller).  same for the power brick?  yikes.  Sony hasn't exactly had the best luck with batteries as of late.

Wellllll, I bought myself a PS3 today at lunch. I'm only 3-4 years behind the times, but hey I don't care: I'm uber-excited.
