i got to catch a preview of this last night, and it's a riot!  if nothing else, steven colbert's character makes it completely worthwhile.  it was honestly a lot funnier than i expected it to be, and there are quite a few "cameos" that i wasn't expecting.
the "pleasure town" scene is one of the campiest, funniest things i've seen in a while.

Saw this last night and I was some-what disappointed. I thought A LOT of the jokes fell flat. It didn't really do much for me...except for Steven Carell's character. He was the only guaranteed laugh in the movie for me.

I think Will Ferrell is TheSheck in disguise.  The humor is very, very similar.   Smiley

sadly, I have to agree with c-lando. it was a let-down for me, sad to say. everyone else around me was laughing, and i knew i should've been, but i wasn't. even steve carell couldn't help. he had some funny lines (as did everyone, really) but the whole 'retard who's only competent talking about weather' focused way too much on the retard part. 'i love carpet. i love lamp' alright steve, head back the daily show.
i think i'm mostly bitter that it didn't live up to my hype.

i concur.  this flick was a let down.

i should have kept the $10.  i could have rented 3 movies that were actually funny. Sad

It had a lot of funny bits, but that's about it.  The massive erection scene was just stupid, as were a lot of the other dick/fart/ass jokes.

Steven Colbert (I don't think that's the right spelling) was a riot though.

I thought this was the greatest movie of all time.  Well, no I didn't, but I laughed heartily.
