So this came out today, and it's one of the movies I've been anticipating for the summer. I'll probably be seeing it over the weekend, as it's also on my boyfriend's anticipation list. Plus, I have a girlie crush on Keira Knightley.
I want to see what kind of spin they put on the King Arthur story, and since there are so many versions of it and ideas about him, I don't think that I will be disappointed. Anyone else planning on seeing it?

I dunno...I'm interested, but the reviews I've read/heard have been very polarized. The dayton daily news gave it a B+ but the npr movie critic basically said he'd rather have been at a bar drowning his sorrows. So I'm torn. My husband doesn't want to see it at all, might be able to hit a matinee--in somerset where it's only $3.50 so I won't waste a lot of money if it sucks donkey balls.

I think it looks kinda' bad. Like "A Knights Tale" with the rock and roll medieval schtick. Whenever I see a preview, they're playing The Crystal Method. When I see my period or fantasy films, I want them dramatic and sweeping, not dumbed down for the common guy. Hopefully, it will be the former and not the later.

Aww, see, I liked A Knight's Tale quite a bit. I thought it was cute.
I think this doesn't look so awesome. I hate when they do King Arthur stories and take out all the magic and junk.

I was going to see this last night, but we ended up not going. I asked my boyfriends brother and friends how they liked it, and all of them responded the same way 'good', with nothing else to say.
I'll probably end up renting it, because I've gotta see anchorman on friday!

Okay, so I saw this last night. It was lame. If it had not been associated with King Arthur, it would have been marginally okay, but there was too much cheesy-ness in it to save it.
First of all, there was a running joke throughout the whole movie, which was funny the first time but annoying the rest of the time.
Second of all, Keira Knightley's come hither looks were totally annoying and goofy.
There were several scenes that looked like they were straight out of Monty Python. It looked low budget, even though it was a jerry bruckheimer film.
Stellan Skaarsgard was good, even though he was annoyingly intense at times.
I say skip it. I'm glad I had read enough negative reviews before I went so I knew what to expect.

I ended up going to see it because my mom paid.
It was worth it. Parts were silly, but other parts were really good. All of the knights were *awesome* Keira Knightley was wicked annoying. She was the worst part of the movie I think.
I just hate how they're billing it as historically accurate or whatever. UGH. Drives me batty.

Seriously. She was so irritating. And I like her.
I think as a movie, it was okay, but as a part of the King Arthur legend, it sucked. If it had just been a movie about knights, it would have been okay.
