I'll try to get an antenna set up here in my office.  It will send out oodles (that's the 'technical' term) of good vibes.  Today it will be directed toward OH!   Smiley

I'll gladly float some of this Vicodin high to anyone else in need of some analgesic releif.

I'll be goin' under next Tuesday to have a kidney stone removed.  The surgery ain't so bad cause I'm under the whole time.  But that first piss after surgery and the removal of the catheter two weeks later are pure Hell.  If I got any Morphine vibes left after Tuesday, I'll pass 'em on, too.

Oh God.  I feel for you.  My husband had two kidney stones in one week (one completely resolved and then 3 days later he got another one on the other side) about 3 years ago.  I witnessed the excruciating pain up close.    I don't know what kind of surgery you're having, but he had the ultrasound kind and halfway in they realized it wasn't going to work.  So that wasn't fun for him.

Oh no, hope I'm not scaring you.  It sounds like your kidney stone isn't as bad as his was because he was completely unable to function, even on pain meds.

Funny related story.  I went to see him after I got off work in the recovery room after his sound blasting procedure and his mom was there with him.  He was feeling yucky, but the nurses were insisting he get up and walk a few steps.  He started to get up and then forgot he had a catheter in and yanked it when he stood up and took too big of a step.  He yelled, really loudly "Owww!  My fucking cock!"  right in front of his mother.  He suddenly realized what he said and then amended, "Um, my penis.  Ow."  I still tease him about that one.

Good vibes to you too.

Red, that is funny.  Thankfully, my catheter will actually be a stent that is internal - nothing hangs out to worry about getting caught on.  The thing that DOES suck about it is that when they take it out, they don't use any anaesthetic.  I'll spare you the gory details, unless you REALLY want to hear them, but it hurts like a motherfunker.  It only takes 5 minutes to remove and once it's out, it only takes a couple of hours to fully recover.

I won't be having the lithotripsy (where they bust it up with sound waves).  They'll be going "in the out door" to get this stone, under full anaesthetic.  That takes a couple of days to get over the surgery and adjust to the stent.  The stent canbe a bit uncomfortable at times, but it's mostly painless once it's in.  This'll be my 6th stone.  I've passed one, had two lithotripsies and this will be my third cystoscopy/surgery.  I'm used to it all by now, it just sucks to have to go through it all.

At dinner last night I was sitting and thinking about how I felt bad for MK's problem. Then I also thought about how that's so odd because she's someone I've never met, or even know what she looks like for that matter. But that's cool, I think, just how online conversations with complete strangers can form minor bonding. I had to write an essay in school recently about how it's a blessing that technology gives us things such as this, and also about how people get a sense of relief by talking (sorta) about things online to get a sense of relief.

Ok, I don't know how to spit out my point here, so I'll quit being sappy and just say I'm glad to be involved with a cool, small online community like this website. And if the dumb things I often post make someone's day easier/better, than cheers!

Good vibes continue to those in need,

JR

Update:  So far, the good vibes have worked.

To clip from the bash post:  I gave birth about 6 hours ago.  I had a healthy, 1/2 gram, 8x10mm baby boy kidney stone.  Looks just like his older brothers, but bigger than the rest when they were born.  It took a little coaxing to get him out, but this was by far the shortest, least complicated delivery of the last 5.

Although I was sedated for the surgery, the recovery and post surgery piss were relatively painless (but painful nontheless.)  No painkillers required yet, which I'll gladly contribute to the passing of good vibes.

Still plenty of good vibes to pass on from here.  If you need 'em, here they are. \Cheesy/

Please continue to send as many as you can to me and CR.

I got more bad news on Friday. Major surgery is in my very near future. I'm really afraid. Sad
