THE COOLER
Worth a rental. A bit too formula for my taste, and William H. Macy is something like 55 years old playing a youngish romantic lead. Plus, Maria Bello is clearly in her mid-30's supposedly playing a 27 year old waitress. Par for the course, I guess. Alec Baldwin is almost a little TOO good as the casino boss with a temper. No wonder Kim Basinger got outta there. The movie itself is decent, if you buy into the premise.

I liked the cooler. I don't ever want to get on Baldwin's bad side though, he was scary.

I most recently rented Welcome to Mooseport. It was pretty good - worth a rent, but it was one of those movies where you repeatedly hide your eyes because you're embarrassed for the people because of the way they're acting.

We're currently going through the extras on the hellboy dvds, seeing the animated version of "the tell-tale heart" was really freaky...but the mc boing boing shorts were funny...

I rented Cold Mountain the other day, partly because I felt an obligation to have seen it, and partly because of Jack White.
I guess it's a good movie, but I'm SO tired of movies like that. How many times can the same story be slightly altered, rewritten, and released as something new? How can this not get boring?

I loved The Princess and the Warrior. I think I may even have to buy it. Definitely worth $4. 04.

Caught Kill Bill 2 last night and liked it a bit more than Kill Bill 1.
That said, I hated Kill Bill 1. Loathed it, even.
I just can't get over the fact that to me Tarantino movies play out as if they are a conduit to satisfy his fetishes. I am kind of creeped out by that, especially with his use of rape (and child molestation as in KB1).
I also did watch Hellboy and enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. The scene between him and that kid spying on his girl was priceless.

Agreed, it's one of my favorite scenes from the movie...

Blockbuster needs a change cup. Every time I go, I forget to bring change, so I get stuck hauling 96 cents around the rest of the day.

I think they should just drop the four cents altogether. Isn't $4 enough for them? MUST they have the extra four cents? Greed I tell you.

Yah, I think about this too. Kinda' like reading an R. Crumb comic and then realizing that all the women in it are straight out of his sexual fantasies and he wants to ride them around like horses.
I loved Kill Bill 1 though and I can't wait to see part 2. I'm waiting until they have some kinda' special box set of them.

A rental is $4.20 here. I giggle every time.
Because I'm lame and immature.

Thought I was the only one who didn't care for KB1. Guess I'll give the second one a shot then.
