Title: 30 Rock
Post by: Ella Minnow Pea on March 11, 2007, 02:39:21 PM
Now that it's on a break, I thought I'd finally start a thread.

This show has really grown on me and is much better than I had hoped. Alec Baldwin truely makes the show.

I'm finally watching the episode from 3/1 with LL Cool J, Ghostface, and Wayne Brady, and I nearly lost it with this line from Jack (Alec) about his mother:

"What the hell does she know? She's a Murphy - a bunch of mud farmers and sheep rapists."
Title: 30 Rock
Post by: dirk on March 11, 2007, 02:50:16 PM
Rafe's last name is Murphy?  I never knew....
Title: 30 Rock
Post by: Jonathan on March 11, 2007, 05:10:28 PM
No, Rafe's not a Murphy. He doesn't have to rape sheep...he just turns on his ol' Judeo-Romany charms and they go willingly.

Yay for 30 Rock!  I like it because it's so frickin' weird.  And Tina Fey is my hero.

BUMP...

This season has been so great. I was afraid they would drop the ball this year but that hasn't happened at all. WOOHOO.

Anyone able to find a download of "Werewolf Bar Mitzvah"?

Awesome!

Did you catch the "Werewolf Barmitzvah" song playing in the background at Kenneth's Halloween party?  I love that show so much.

Sweet Christ, last night's episode was hilarious. Lately, each new episode quickly becomes my favorite episode.

Between Frank being suddenly gay for the coffee guy, and only the coffee guy and Liz dating the coffee guy only to find out that he was dating her because she looked exactly like his mom last week's ep was the funniest yet in my opinion.

Well, either that or the one last season when Jenna kept accidentally dissing the troops.  I was almost sick to my stomach laughing at that one.

Last night was pretty good, I liked Frank's Harvard costume.  Kenneth's note cards for making chit-chat with women were a nice touch.

Did anybody catch the other names on the screen at the ankle bracelet monitoring station?  There were three Lohans, one in Nevada, one in New York and L Lohan in Southern California.  Michele Rodriguez could be seen over Hawaii.  And somewhere over Texas or Oklahoma was C. Bacca, which I assume is short for Chewbacca... which is hilarioius.

Oh, Man. I didn't even notice. I was too busy laughing about the fact that they even wrote this into the script in the first place. I wonder if Tracy still wears his or if he is now off "the program"?

Anybody still watching this?  Last night was solid funny, it's quickly making Earl (which is stumbling big time this year) a distant third in the NBC Thursday lineup.

The bit where Liz went to see Jack's replacement with her personal problems and the lady just stared at her and then took a hot wheels out of her mouth almost made me pee.

I'm not sure anything will ever top Kenneth's desire to see a fitting end to Night Court and his and Tracy's attempt to create one.

Kenneth - "Hey look, I found a quarter."
Guy that played Mac - "I lost a quarter earlier" *yoink*

Classic.

Generalissimo is one word there sweetie.  It's, actually an italian word meaning General of the highest order and is usually used to describe a person that's come to power forcibly.

And now here are some photos of beautiful latin children accompanied by the sounds of Tito Puente...

same thing I posted on woxy.com

Back to Back awesdomeness from 30 ROCK. Tracy Jordan sending NYC into a panic with his crazy money riddles and theories about the comeback of 70s New York. AMAZING. Liz's adult photos. Peter Frampton. Jonathon's camcorder for his "private" moments. A cabby who jacks up the ransom on your phone when he sees that your contacts are rich and powerful but still judges you because they are all work contacts and not friends.

"Think the early 90s for you."
"You haven't had SEX!"

Perfect ensemble night.

Sesame Street has a spoof of 30 Rock.

Liz Lemon is a lemon (of course!) With glasses. They got a delivery of 30 rocks, which Jack wasn't sure if 30 had been delivered or not.  I'm pretty sure that it was Alec Baldwin voicing Jack, but I couldn't tell if it was Tina Fey or not.  Very funny, though.

Best subtitles ever.

The whole concept of "The Bubble" was amazing. Making him wait for a table. Covering his face and then trying to order his ridiculous catfish po'boy and Diet Raspberry Fanta and getting verbally bitch-slapped by the waitress? Priceless.

"What's that citrusy taste?"
"Gatorade."

I was so happy when I saw Dennis. He always KILLS me. I wish he was still alive on RESCUE ME.

LOVED last night's episode for all the points that Kwyjibo just hit. The Tracy, Kenneth and Jack view of the world was spectacular. Especially seeing Liz actually walk like her puppet self. HILARIOUS! And the whole astronaut thing (with Space press conference banner) was amazing. Poor Pete. Got that one DUI in high school and had to kiss his political career GOODBYE.

I don't want to go to there.

BAD season finale! Seemed like a major cop-out. SERIOUSLY. The Tracy storyline was stupid and then the lame musical # to help Jack find a kidney for the guy who MIGHT be his dad? Why didn't he have Spacemen run a paternity test as well. Sheesh. Even throwing Declan McManus, international art thief, couldn't save this episode for me. Only thing that really had me laughing was Kenneth talking about all of his backwoods Bible Science learnin'.

I thought it was one of the best episodes so far, this season.  The candle doedorant, Tracey trying to off Betty White, chuckle with a Peppy Bismilk chaser, stomping on the dummy's head after he ripped Liz up.  The whole thing killed me.  I just wish there was a Werewolf Barmitzva redux.
