This is the one that's like the reverse American Idol, right?

I watched it. It's funny but cruel. I'm not sure what I think yet. I laughed out loud several times. This (if it's real) is the kind of stuff that toys with people's lives and in the end, could scar them forever. Sure, the winner get $100,000.00, but is that a fair price for all the humiliation.

Maybe I'm being picky, but the jury is still out on this one.

I would only be concerned about this if the contestants aren't "in on the joke." If they're taking it serious, but the producers aren't, then yes, that's a potentially damaging situation. But if the contestants know what they're getting into, then laugh away. Not having seen the show, I don't know which situation it is.

What offends me is William Hung demanding four and five figure sums in appearance fees to inflict his unique brand of "singing" on the American people. Dude, you suck. You don't deserve the money.

I started to watch part of it for research purposes, but I honestly couldn't get through it.  It seems horrible.

It could just end so badly for the "winner" of the competition.  I have visions of somebody blowing their brains out over this.

I was thinking the same thing, Jules.

That's not good. Not good at all.

Sounds like I'm going to have to boycott this show on general principle.

I absolutely HATE that this guy has gained some form of celebrity, but y'know what? If people are WILLING to pay those sums to him for appearances, more power to him. He SHOULD soak the American people that put him on that pedestal dry while he can. He's smarter than people give him credit for. I say kudos.

As for Superstar USA, I refuse to watch it. Total bullshit.

Yeah, if people are willing to throw money his way, I can't be upset at him for picking it up and putting it in his pocket. But once I heard that him and his manager dad were acting like prima donnas toward the people who invite him to "sing" at their events, that turned me against him. Because he doesn't have a leg to stand on there. Not that any prima donnas really do.

Congratulations, Will. At this point, you might just be bigger than Ruben Studdard. Well, not literally.

I caught about ten minutes of it before going to work, but the most hilarious contestant from what I saw was that blonde chick who kept looking at her hand where she had the lyrics written down.

Funny, but nothing worth repeated watching, even if it is a nice commentary on how pitiful these 'talent' shows can be.

From what I understand everyone is in on the joke *except* the contestants.

I also heard, and this could be total crap, I don't have a source, that some of the initial audiences were told that they were seeing people who were terminally ill, a la the Make a Wish Foundation so that they would applaud and keep up the ruse.

I thought the Who Wants to Marry a Rich Cocksucker with Pearly White Teeth, Beauty is Only Skin Deep, but Gimme a Boob Job and Bachelor/Bachelorette shows were wrong, but this is definitely wrong.

I've said that "I Want a Famous Face" is the most revolting, reprehensible show on television right now, and I still stand by that, but man, this is up there.

One thing I'll say for '..Famous Face' is that at the very least they show the negatives very prominently along with all the rest.

OK, it's cruel, but I'm hooked. It's not the greatest show in the world, but WB has me wanting to see some poor bastard get clobbered on national TV. I'm ashamed, but I'm hooked.

By the way, I think I'm in love with Vitamin C. She's funny and stuff.

I loved her when she was an indie rocker named Colleen Fitzpatrick in a kick ass band called Eve's Plumb. Now that she's a sellout popster whose career is in the shitter so she has to resort to stringing poor, unwitting schmucks along on national television, she can eat an ass.

I hated her.
She was the main villian in Hairspray
Plus I thought Eve's Plum were horrid.

Circle gets the square Scott.  Eve's Plumb was indeed a pretty decent band.

I always enjoyed the Eve's Plumb.  This venture however proves that she'll do whatever it takes to make a buck...as if the entire Vitamin C thing didn't prove that enough.

I caught a few minutes of this dreck the other night.

I think the "singers" are wannabe actors/actresses licking the lense for their 15 minutes of fame.

I can't wait to see what's next.

I am not sure how the judges are able to have such serious faces all the time.  I know I would have a difficult time doing that at some points....

William Hung has a lot to answer for.

I missed most of the shows, but I tuned in for the finale last night. That was the lamest finale since Jeraldo opened Capone's safe. Man it was bad.

(I forget here name, but the winner was a big busted blonde) The funny thing is that I don't think she understands what happened. At the end, she said that she couldn't wait to hang out with Britney and sign millions of autographs?

Rosa still thinks she has a singing career ahead of her.

Mario understood it. He says no matter what, he used to be shy, and this brought something out of him. He said that by being on the stage and performing, he lived out a dream. Mario wins in my book!

There were no comments from the judges or no behind the scenes banter between the judges and the contestants. That was lame.

I'm glad I didn't watch the entire series now.

At least somebody got something positive out of it...
