Dark room, music on the radio with the fewest DJs/commercials/talking possible.  So, the only local DJ-less station with music I can listen to mindlessly is the Dayton classic rock station, 95.3.  Except I can't turn that on on Saturday nights because on Sunday morning there are always infomercials/public affairs shows that wake me up, so Saturday nights I listen to nothing.

In most cases I prefer to have the TV on w/ sleep timer and volume low. But I need total darkness, so I burrow into the blankets to block out the TV light. More recently though, I have been sleeping most nights in a dark room with no TV and that's not been a problem.

Yesterday - I'm looking forward to a complete change in lifestyle over the next year.  Stopped smoking, stopped drinking, going back to school, changing jobs within the next couple weeks and a bunch of other stuff.

Today - A little bit of light, little to no noise, and a cat sprawled out against my legs.

teeny bit of light peeking in (usually the one with the dimmer switch in the bathroom), warm blankets and cool pillows, and kyle.  seriously, i'll be effed if he ever goes on tour again because i cannot sleep without him (or at least knowing he's in the next room).

Closet light on, TV on the (no not radio) History or National Geographic channel, and a dog on the floor.    I miss the last environmental factor quite a bit.

Dark room, snuggled under covers, with two pillows.

dark - even the light from the DVR annoys me.  Fan on low to keep it cool and for white noise.  room cool but not freezing.

yay, someone else like me!  I can't sleep with the tv on- it's not the sound that bugs me, it's the flickering light.

Dark and quiet, although if I'm really tired I can fall asleep with lights on and the tv blaring.

I sometimes wear a blackout mask if CR has a bedside light on.

I just turn off the lights and go to sleep.  Every once in a while birds chirping at 5 AM will wake me up.  Other than that, I will pretty much fall asleep under any condition or I won't fall asleep at all.

That's the reason for the background music for me.  I have dogs in the neighborhood that like to bark and birds chirping outside my window and my kids love getting up at 6 AM and rustling around in their bedrooms.  If I didn't have the constant background music to drown out some of the surprise morning background noise, I'd get up at 6 AM on weekends too... and that would make me angry.

I'm not picky.  I'll sleep just about anywhere, including porches and front lawns.  ;)  Noise doesn't bother me, and neither does light.  I just LOVE my sleep so much I can block anything out.  Lucky for Owen I don't mind him playing WoW in when I'm trying to go to sleep (the WoW computer is in the bedroom).  Sometimes he's up playing til 2am, and I am none the wiser.
