I think if you combine the best songs off both albums, you'd have a classic on your hands.  But there's always 2-3 songs on an AF album that just make you cringe.  Most of them are when Regine takes the lead vocal.

I don't think there are any great individual moments on here like there are on 'Funeral,' either.  Nothing like the intro to 'Wake Up' or the tension that builds in 'Neighborhood #1.'  If I were ranking it, it'd get a 3.5/5 tops.

I think the first album already is a classic. The second one isn't a sophomore slump, but I'd rather listen to the first. There are, though, 3 songs (at least) that I really dig. So that's good.

I just think the great moments on Funeral are great enough to cover up the moments that are lacking.

I've become kind of jaded so it's pretty tough to impress me nowadays.  It's really not a bad album, and they did attempt to branch out a little bit.  I'm not going to purchase it, but I wouldn't write the band off.  It'd be a 3.5-4 R effort for me.

The more I listen to it, the more I am convinced it is a great album.  There are maybe one or two moments that I don't like, but there were 3-4 songs on Funeral that I just can't get into, and can't say the same about any songs on this album.  I agree with the review.
