I don't care what Bill Walsh did for the game of football. For me he's the guy responsible for one of the greatest football video games ever. The game in which my best friend and I went head-to-head in a game which ended up with the final score of something in the area of 89-85. I think I was on the losing end, but in something as epic as that there are no real losers. It was something like the 1980-something UCLA squad with unstoppable receivers versus the '83 Auburn squad with the unstoppable Bo Jackson legging things out. It was ground vs. air. It could have been renamed the elemental match - Earth vs. Wind. I'm sure Bill himself never had any idea about the awesomeness of his video game, but Bill Walsh College Football for the Sega Genesis will always live on in my memory, and thus the spirit of Bill Walsh will never die.

RIP Bill.
