Mr. Thirt and i finally got to see the new HALLOWEEN today and were pleasantly surprised. have you gotten to catch it yet, whigs?
Yep! We went on Saturday afternoon so we'd have the theatre to ourselves while everyone else was at the football game. I had no expectations that it would be the next
Citizen Kane, so I just enjoyed it for what it was. I like some of the techniques Zombie tends to use in his storytelling -- not in the script per se, but in the way he tells the story through his directing style. For example, he might slip into black-and-white for a few seconds or suddenly go into slo-mo with some great classic song blasting in the background, adding to the mood and the moment. He uses a variety of things to paint the picture, and for the most part it works.
I had to giggle, though, during most of the scenes with his wife, Sherri Moon. She was great as Baby Firefly in his past films, but I think the character of Baby was pretty forgiving in that it lent itself to an over-the-top approach. In
Halloween, though, and this is just my opinion, her portrayal of the mother was pretty flat -- even by horror movie standards. Yeah, she's still a hottie -- Zombie is always quick to show her off in his films (she's your muse, Rob, we get it already) -- but girlfriend is not much of an actress. Rob shore does love him some young girl titties, though, don't he?

I wonder what's up next for him. Anybody know?
