Not a good weekend to be a favorite.

Although, let's be fair...FSU had a pretty crappy season last year, too. And they have only won 10 games once since the turn of the century. Has Bobby Bowden past his sell-by date?

Well...Clemson isn't a pushover anymore, either. But I'd guess you're right - Bowden's done. It's just that you can't really "get rid" of a guy who's accomplished what he has. So my guess is that FSU is stuck with him until he decides it is time.

Yeah, Butter and I were discussing that last night. Bowden and Paterno are past their "use by" dates. They are not doing any good for their teams but, since they have such a legacy, it would be rather difficult to give them the boot. Perhaps they will "suggest" that Bowden retire soon?

They've been suggesting Paterno retire for close to ten years now. Fat lot of good all that suggesting has done.

That was beyond painful. It's going to be a long, long season - for both Tennessee and Miami. Ugh.

Duuuuuude, let's talk about the Bearcats. For the first time since...well, ever...I'm actually excited about Bearcat football. I mean, even when I went there and they were going to bowls every year I never 'looked forward to their next game to see what they can do'. Now I'm thinking they actually have a shot to ruin some peoples seasons, and that's uber exciting. After a cupcake whitewashing, and then the 34-3 pasting of Oregon State, and now a thrashing (admittedly expected) of Miami, they are looking pretty effing good. Does anyone here think they can stand up to Rutgers, Louisville, and WVU? That would be pretty amazing if they could take two of three of those...

UC definitely has a chance against Louisville. Their defense is pretty weak. Is it at Nippert?

I can't believe we've gotten to the point where people are asking if they think teams have a chance at beating Rutgers.

Next, you're going to be telling me that Wake Forest won the ACC last season.

Ouch. Don't you think you should have been focusing on Michigan first?
