Yeah, for sure. His description of the post-Katrina and -Rita devastation was pretty haunting. I had some trouble believing Molly would make some of the decisions she made at the end of the book (when she and Alafair went to the university library), but it was a typically solid Burke story. It was especially cool reading it now that I know firsthand what New Iberia and the surrounding areas look like.

Yes it's the same John Hegley. I've a couple of his collections of poems, and this one is an old favourite I decided to re-read for the first time in ten years or so. It's typical Hegley; observational, clever and funny.  Here's one of the shorter examples of his work in the book, about the Eric Cantona kung fu incident, called "Fracas":

Eric got aerobic
when the going got too Francophobic:
he didn't have a leg to stand on
but he had someone to land on.
