34. Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky

I LOVE that book.  I just saw Stephen Chbosky on Sunday, actually.  It was a big *squee* moment.  I just don't get why he hasn't written MORE books.  I know he's doing TV stuff, but still.  Perks is such an excellent book.  He must have more in him.

Well, there's no way I make it to 50 but here's what I have so far:

1. Slam - Nick Hornby
2. War Reporting for Cowards - Chris Ayers
3. Alternadad - Neal Pollack
4. Paperboy: Confessions of a Future Engineer - Henry Petroski
5. World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War - Max Brooks
6. The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable - Nassim Nicholas Taleb
Whew, that was a tedious book to get through.

Uh, Jagr, an autobiography? I would make a joke here, but as someone who read "The Boz", I think I'll keep my glass house in one piece for now.

I found it at Half Price Books in Indianapolis. I can't stand Jagr, but thought it might at least be interesting about growing up behind the Iron Curtain, etc. It wasn't.

Look for it soon at the Lane Ave. Half Price Books in Columbus  :D

As tempting as it is to swing by and pick that up on my lunch hour, I think I'll hold out and continue my wait for Link Gaetz to finally come out with his autobiography.

I actually went into this with low expectations since I'm not really a fan of mystery/thriller/crime novels, but ended up really enjoying it.  I have such a vivid image of all the characters (especially Marvin).  McGahan's growth as a writer from Praise to LD is really quite impressive.  As much as I don't want to shell out $40 for Underground, it looks like that is exactly what I am going to have to do.
