30. Breaking Dawn, Stephenie Meyer

Was a bit disappointed in this last book in the Twilight series, which is why it took me so long to get through it (compared to the other titles).

I'm listening to the unabridged CD version in my car, so it might be awhile before I finish.  I just started disc 7 or about 17 this morning.  So far, I don't really enjoy the switching off to Jacob's point of view.  But once we've all finished this one, we must discuss.  I can't stop finding the religious/moral symbolism, and it's driving me crazy.  I may be reading way too much into it, but still.....

Yes, yes! Please post something or PM me when you're done b/c I NEED to talk about it.

My oldest sister has been a member of the Mormon church for 37 years. I've been to every kind of LDS church event you can imagine (with the exception of the secret marriage "sealing" ceremonies in the temple) and, like you, I see correlations to the LDS faith throughout the Stephenie Meyer books. The kicker for me will be to see if my sister is as vehemently opposed to the Twilight series as she is to Harry Potter.

I've read a lot of cracking books so far this year, but I've mislaid the archaic PC they were listed on. Well it's not mislaid, it blew up. I'll add to my list here once I can remember them all.

Terribly executed book on what should have been a fascinating tale. Obvious the author did next to NO research preferring to rely just on his and his friends skewed memories.

87.  Don't You Forget About Me--Jancee Dunn
I can't WAIT to read this!! How was it?!?!?!?
Sorry, didn't see this til today.  It was pretty good.  The theme of revisiting your high school years, crushes, friends, etc back in the 80s was completely up my alley, and I could definitely relate to Lily's actions as she thinks back to those days.  On the other hand, Lily's current life situations and the way she handled many of them got to be a bit annoying.  She was a bit too passive in taking control of her life, but finally did get around to getting it together.
