I LOVED Life as we knew it.  What did you think?  If you liked it, and you aren't tired of moon world, you should read the companion novel  The Dead and the Gone.  It's a little more gritty, but still enjoyable.

I couldn't put it down once I started it.  It was very good.  I didn't know there was a followup, so thanks for the tip.  It's in the pile of books waiting for me to read :-)

19. The Tale of Despereaux - Kate DiCamillo (I can't see how a delightful kid's film can be made from this book. I LOVED this tale, but it's beyond dark and depressing. The film must be VERY loosely based on the book or there will be some crying kids and angry parents at the theatre.)

Nice and depressing throughout, but overall well done.  Although, I wonder if it isn't a cop out to have him survive.
