Luisterpaal
« on: January 26, 2008, 02:21:23 PM »

I'm finally getting around to using Luisterpaal. (Lack of speakers on the laptop and no streaming at work limits this type thing.) I've been able to check out the new British Sea Power and am currently listening to Vampire Weekend. I think I'm going to try to utilize it this year.

It's a movie score. It's like a mellow, Italian, Mr. Bungle meets Fantomas.

Totally forgot that BSP came out this year. I swore I bought it too (which is probably why I forgot about it) so thanks for the reminder. Need to go and listen again and see how I still feel about it (I know the first couple of listens I wasn't impressed but it grew on me with repeated listens).

The beauty is that Ella's post is almost four years old, yet evidently timeless. :)

This morning brings us The Black Keys -El Camino and The Roots - Undun.

I cannot get either album to play. Is that a Warner and Universal policy?

The site has been good to show NL only when they won't play for us but looks like that might be the case here. I don't get it. They put up US bands and we can't listen (stupid WB). WTF!

Dang, man. Good call. I need to come back to this when I can listen through headphones to appreciate the dynamic range.
