Already following Rville. :) Wish there was more info being pushed out, though.

Following musicians' twitters is rather bizarre. Much better than any reality show - there's no editor!

The trick (for me) is determining which of the accounts set up under the person's name is the "real" one. That's why I was psyched to see Reznor on Navarro's list (and Perry Farrell, too). Once I saw that Reznor's, Navarro's, and Farrell's twitter feeds all contained individual tweets with roughly the same time stamp about Tom Morello's band joining the upcoming NINJA tour ... and details about tour rehearsals ... combined with the language used in Reznor's tweets :) ... I knew it was legit.

Sadly, no sign of Fat Greg tweeting.  I did, though, find a Gutter Twins feed. It's empty. :'(

Dr. Drew certainly follows some interesting people on twitter.

Russell Brand? Samantha Ronson? Mark Geragos?

Man, this sounds like a gigantic time suck.  I'll be avoiding this.

That's kind of why I stay away from it. Even with our boards, unless there is a catchy subject title, I rarely have time to scroll things anymore. So I just let Evan update our Twitter page.

If anyone else wants the keys to it so they can be more active on it, that's no problem. I simply just don't have enough to say...

I don't find it a time suck at all. It's not like you have to be on there 24/7. And with a 140-character limit per tweet, it doesn't take very long to read. Certainly less time than it takes to read a bunch of rambling blogs.

For me it's been a great way to tap into information to which I wouldn't normally have access, or that I'd have to spend hours surfing a dozen different sites to find when I can get it faster via twitter. For example, through Rainn Wilson's feed I learned about Soul Pancake. Through NPR and the New York Times' feeds I can get a steady stream of news links.

It also allows for giving/getting quick input. For example, yesterday Reznor was asking for suggestions for songs NIN should cover on the upcoming tour. David Gregory always asks for input on questions for Meet the Press. If I'm struggling with an issue at work, I can tweet about it and within a minute have a bunch of people telling me how they solved the same problem, which at times has been a Godsend.

In addition, by following colleagues' feeds I've made connections with new colleagues locally, nationally, and internationally, which has been invaluable.

Different strokes for different folks. I've never understood the value of role-playing games like WoW, DoD, and KoL, but it's obviously of tremendous benefit to and fun for millions of other people. More power to them.

And are you SURE that that's actually Dr. Drew? I know that there's a Bill Simmons on twitter and it's not actually the Bill Simmons it's supposed to be.

And Robin Finck.

I need to find this!  And I need yous, too, whigs.  You should be able to find me easily... ;)

I'll probably start using this more as I attended a Social Media Club of KC last week for networking.  Whigs, are you using Tweetdeck?

It's so brief, I don't see how it can be a timesuck - unless you have zero self-restraint.

I have to admit, I thought it was SUPER dumb when my sister first mentioned it.  Then I realized a few of my other close friends were,  But, what really keeps me on there is news feeds.  The Dayton B2B news feed has helped me land contracts because I find out who the bid winners are before anyone else.  I also started to follow some style and music feeds to get ideas for the website I'm contributing to.

And Robin Finck.

I need to find this!

Finck is just getting started, so there's only one tweet there. Here's his feed.

And I need yous, too, whigs.

You can find me at VitaLuna. The account is locked, so just request access and I'll hook you up. :)

I tend to use either twhirl or just the regular twitter Web site. Looking for you now!
