Rick'n'Rolla 10/29/08 + 10/30/08
« on: October 29, 2008, 12:11:47 PM »

So, I have to split my 8 hours of "Never Gonna Give You Up" over two days.

4 hours start now, 4 hours tomorrow.

It's going to be a long, sad account of a guy in a trenchcoat, skanky backup dancers, and a wigged out bartender.

And so I press play and begin the loop.

And so that we're on the same page:

We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy

I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching but you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it

And if you ask me how I'm feeling
Don't tell me you're too blind to see

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

(Ooh give you up)
(Ooh give you up)
(Ooh) never gonna give, never gonna give (give you up)
(Ooh) never gonna give, never gonna give (give you up)

We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching but you're too shy to say it
Inside we both know what's been going on
We know the game and we're gonna play it

I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand

You must be really desperate to have to tell someone that you're never gonna do bad things to them over and over again in a song.

This should be titled "I Screwed Up".

Ooooooh... I screwed up.
Never gonna screw, never gonna screw,
Screw you up

"Eighties pop singer Rick Astley has become the surprise contender for best act ever at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool.

The star, who has never been nominated in the history of the event, is up against U2, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Green Day and Tokio Hotel."

Tokio Hotel? Really?

Granted these are prepubescent teens voting for garbage, but, best act ever?

Just having released one song (Monsoon) to do well outside of Germany is not a good enough reason. Then again, most of the other acts on that list aren't that deserving either...

Can't figure out which is more grating:

the song on an 8 hour loop

OR

the people who think Rickrolling is amusing.

I will admit that I thought Astley was black the first time I heard this song start up.

A, since B was amusing at least the first time it happens to you.
