Sad.  I always enjoyed reading his books.  He also used to be married to the woman who played Dori Doreau in Sledge Hammer!  (I can always provide Sledge Hammer! trivia)

Jurassic park was the book that made me a reader.  I've loved all of his books except for the last few.  Godspeed MC.

He was my author of choice for pleasure reading in college, although I haven't read anything since Timeline.

Yeah, during my formative years I read 5 or 6 of his books. Other than the Harry Potters, that's probably the single highest quantity for any single author I've ever read. Good for him, but sad that he's passed on.
