Better Off Ted is pretty funny.

8 thumbs up.  It's almost worth it for the Veridian Dynamics ad in each episode alone.

Sadly, it probably won't make it to next season.

Very few shows in the last 10 years have made me laugh out loud as hard as Better Off Ted does.

"Warehouse 13" on Sci-Fi - or Syfy as its now stupidly named - shows considerable promise

Which probably means it will get cancelled

Premise is vaguely reminiscent of an 80s show called Friday the 13th where cousins have to track down occult items from their uncle's antique shop. Loved that show. Anyway, the presence of CCH Pounder ensures I'll at least take a look.

That was my thought exactly when I heard about the show.  I watched it last night, and it wasn't bad.  Not good enough to add it to my DVR record list, but I'll give it a few more episodes before I make a final decision.  I think they really need to decide about the objects having magic power or not though.  In the first ep, they are trying to explain that the combs somehow works through a reaction with the metals and the skin, and then it suddenly has magic power to entrance a crowd.  I'm okay with magic, but they need to decide that is what is going on and stick with it.

And CCH Pounder was a mystery to me.  I watched it and she seemed familiar, but I didn't know where.  I kept thinking she would be the perfect Amanda Waller if DC every did a live action with her, and when I looked her up, she was the voice of Amanda Waller in the Justice League cartoons.

Wow.  My wife has been sick with a sinus infection, so she's been hanging out watching TV in bed.

Her synopsis of the weekend went as follows:

She hates laying in bed with nothing to do but be sick.
Random complaints and one specific one about not being able to vacuum out her sinuses with some home sinus tool.
There was some pilot for a show called Warehouse 13 on and she thought it was done very well.
Sci-Fi is now MDTV (mentally deficient television) in her eyes for succumbing to the dumbing down of America by going to SyFy
Sadly, since it showed so much promise it will either peter out after 4 episodes or be almost immediately canceled.

Luv the words of wisdom from the ailing Mrs. Poncho (hope she's feeling better.)  I thought the show stood out, too.  The female/male leads' interaction isn't fully by the book and I think the guy that plays Artie is a good character actor - this role is perfect for him.

Can't remember the "Friday the 13th" show you mentioned, Wherle.

This week I'm happily looking forward to the premiere of "Dark Blue" with Dylan McDermott.

Dirk, CCH Pounder was Claudette Wims on The Shield, which I loved her on.

KC, here's the cast of Friday the 13th The Series:

I saw the ad for Dark blue and wasn't all that impressed beyond casting, it looks like just another darker themed cop show. I could totally be wrong, but that was my first impression.

This week I'm happily looking forward to the premiere of "Dark Blue" with Dylan McDermott.

I was about to make a snarky comment about all Dylan McDermott vehicles being lousy, but then I realized I was getting Dylan McDermott confused with Matt Dillon.  Whoops.

Carry on.

Yeah, I'm not sure how Dark Blue will turn out either, but worth giving a shot.  We'll know more in a couple episodes!

I agree, CR, Warehouse 13 is a winner.  I read that it is breaking viewership records for the network so I can't imagine they'd cancel.  Dark Blue, on the otherhand, isn't bad but not all that interesting either.  In all honesty I don't see that Dylan M has all that great of a role.

Psyched about the new season of Psych tonight!
