Avett Brothers Spring Tour
« on: February 19, 2009, 08:14:52 AM »

We'll probably at least think pretty hard about going to the show in Indy, don't know if Julie's going to feel like standing around for a few hours by then though.

They're also playing NPR's Showcase at SxSW with The Decemberists and The Heartless Bastards.  The set will be available via podcast.

If anybody is doing SxSW this year I recommend you see these guys and try to talk to them, they're super nice, down to earth people.

Thanks for posting! I have a cousin in Danville who'd probably go with me to that one.

Oh yeah, these guys in concert are full of fun energy, its definitely worth the 90 minute or so road trip.

Kwyjibo, if you can somehow get to the Vogue around when the doors open, you could definitely find a good seat there so that way you could take a load off the feets for a while (while the openers play, or whatever).  :)

Even if I have to sit down during the show, I want to go.

Your cousin lives in probably the best place in the world. It must be heavenly there.

I saw the new dates this morning, and I may consider the hike to Indy for the April show.  All depends on how my bank account's looking, because I'd be taking a day off work, and likely getting a hotel.

They're opening for DMB here. It's $55 for the lawn, so I'm have to pass on this particular show. They are on my list to see at some point, though. (Unfortunately I missed seeing them last summer.)

I looked at that show, but it's right around my trip.  Plus, $55 is alot of money, when if they would come here, it would be closer to $30, I bet.  They have been here a couple of times, but it looks like they have hit the big time, and will never return to the end of the world!

But they are from NC, so it's actually a bit more likely. I'm hoping they'll play Koka Booth or the Art Museum again.
