I'm sure I'm not the first to have seen a movie this year, but...

1. In the Air
So a review I read (and it may have been here) said that the last fourth was not in the same tone as the first 3/4. Yup.  Still enjoyed George smarming across the screen. And Jason Bateman was awesome!

1. Die Hard

Tried to watch Inglorious Basterds, but the sounds was whack, so we'll have to get another copy.

1. TAKING OF PELHAM 123 - 01-01-10 -RedBox DVD - 3 out of 5 - enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. They were smart and steered clear of the original. Even The Greg ended up liking it.

1) Quarartine

This was surprisingly good.  The use of the limited camera was well done and the creep factor was fairly high.  That being said, I don't know how much rewatch value it has, but definitely worth it once.

1. District B13 (not to be confused with District 9... French action film from 2004).

1. A Boy Named Charlie Brown- "Owning 10% of Charlie Brown is like owning 10% of nothing!"
2. Crazy Love- Documentary about a guy who threw acid on a former girlfriend's face, blinding her.  Pretty interesting.
3. Wristcutters: A Love Story- Quirky little story.  Liked it a lot.

1. Die Hard

2. Inglorious Basterds - Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would.  It drove J bonkers for being a "fan-fiction version of the Dirty Dozen," but he also said it at least made up for Death Proof.  Also, I don't recall Eli Roth being SO GD HOT.

1. Sherlock Holmes - 5

Could've been so much more with that cast in a decent filmmaker's hands.  Even with all the stupid modernization of the Holmes character, like being basically insane and having a love interest.  Ah, well.

2. Up in the Air - 9

Just so well done all around.  Fun, if a bit depressing story.  And bits like "Glocal"... it's like they ripped some of those scenes from some of the companies I have to meet with now and then.  Almost too good.

1. A Boy Named Charlie Brown - Certainly not the best of the Charlie Brown flicks, not that any of them were terribly great or anything.

2. Crazy Love - This was on Sundance's On Demand channel and we just happened up on it.  A really weird true tale of a crazy guy that pays to have the woman he loves blinded and they end up together anyway.  My analysis?  They're both nuts.

3. Wristcutters: A Love Story - Another Sundance On Demand pick.  Really liked this one.  The kid from Almost Famous offs himself and ends up in a weird afterlife for people who have committed suicide and falls in love.

4. District 9 - Really enjoyed this but wasn't in love with the ending, not enough resolution.

2. SMOKIN' ACES - 01/02/10 - CABLE - 1 out of 5 - only person I really liked was Taraji Henson. Every one else sucked. Could see where this was going in about 2 seconds.
3. SHERLOCK HOLMES - 01/03/10 - AMC Parkway Point - 3 out of 5 - REALLY liked the first 2/3 of the movie. Then, it got a little slow and the "big reveal" of the bad guy's plot was dumb.

1. Nowhere to run.
2. Godzilla (told the kiddo "It's just a cheesy monster movie", she kept asking me "So are the monster's legs made of cheese?")
3. The mask
4. Mrs. Pettigrew lives for a day.

I couldn't get through 10 minutes of this.  Maybe it's because we were eating chili while watching, but the sounds that the aliens made were REALLY high on the gross-out factor for me.

I have to go out of town for work three days next week, and gets my buzzwords on.  Except not only do I get the buzzwords but I'll often sit in a meeting and be divebombed by technical acronyms and EDI terms I don't understand.  "Oh, we can just send an 855 back from their ERP.  We'll use an 810 to true up the budget.  Put a nice UI on it and you're good to go.  Are they PCI compliant?"  Kwji shoots self.

I should see this just before or just after my trip and see how it compares.
